Friday!

Today was my day off this week (instead of the usual Wednesday), and did I ever have a list of things to do!! I was able to check off every single thing, including a couple of late additions, and also a nap!

  • Credit union
  • Edward Jones
  • Sewing machine repair shop
  • KC&T to visit Ali & pick up snap pliers
  • Goodwill
  • Antique mall
  • Another antique shop
  • Lunch
  • Groceries (bunny cake ingredients!)
  • Oil change
  • Nap

The big news is: Spring Has Sprung!! It could be warmer (I'm anxious to kick shoes & socks to the back of the closet), and sunnier, but we're moving in the right direction, I guess.

Lilac buds… teensy tiny buds!! I cannot wait. That's one of my favorite flowers — the scent is divine.

The bloodroot is coming up, too. They're so mysterious with that leaf shroud, and so simple & pretty when they bloom!

I didn't buy anything at the antique shops (in fact, at one I was picking up some things that weren't selling), but I did bring something home.

I'd pulled out a drawer in a small cabinet that I was mildly interested in, but something was preventing it from going all the way back in. So I fished out a few plastic file tabs, and this short piece of negative… which fell into my purse.

The world being as it is today, I downloaded an app for that and within minutes…

Happy Weekend!!

  1. Great pictures with loads of personality, and I don’t know that I would have thought to look for an app to go from negative to picture. Good thinking!
Oh, I miss the giant lilac bushes we had at the house where I was little. The took up a whole corner of our backyard. They do smell divine and they were my favorite flower from our garden to take to my teachers. We had both white and ‘lilac’ versions.

  2. I am so impressed that you managed to check everything off (and that is a substantial list) and take a nap! Now I’m wondering about the people in those photos and their stories (and also looking forward to seeing a bunny cake). Sounds like your spring weekend is off to a wonderful start!

  3. We’re finally getting the snow to melt here in New Hampshire. No flower buds as yet. But, soon, I hope. Impressive list. Who are the folks in the photos you discovered? Hope you have a wonderful Easter. Here’s hoping for photos of your bunny cake!

  4. My lilacs look exactly like that – I swear those little purple buds showed up over night! Great find in those negatives.

  5. What a productive and interesting day! (and I count that nap as productive, too – I’m sure it gave you a much needed burst of energy for the evening 🙂 Very cool find in those negatives … and the app – my son in law told me today about an app that takes photos of documents and converts them to a pdf. so useful (and I’m reminded that “there’s an app for everything”!)

  6. Wow! There’s an app for just about everthing!!! 🙂
I can’t believe what happens in my garden overnight these days! Seems every time I go out, I find something else popping or blooming or otherwise emerging. It’s a wonderful time of year. (Now . . . if only it was slightly warmer. . . ) XO

  7. We’re much farther along in the blooming season with lilacs just getting showy. My oldest hosta is coming through the ground all in one huge “swoop”! It’s so much fun to watch the earth come to life. Now if we just had a few warm days (with sun) in a row! How cool you found an app to bring the pictures into the light. They look to be about the same era as my childhood.

  8. Love that you found an app for the negatives. Interesting photos. We need stories to go with – lol. Napping is ALWAYS on my list – one of my favorite hobbies.
