Ten on Tuesday: 10 93 Favorite TV Shows From Your Childhood**
I tried. I really did. I grew up around The Golden Age of Television… and I HAVE LOVED, DO LOVE, and WILL CONTINUE TO LOVE television. It would be pure torture to have to limit this list to 10.
Every time I'd think of a show, I'd think of another… or two… or three!! It was a lot of fun, too, and I'm glad that I have this list.
It's not like I've seen every episode of any of these shows — I may have only seen one — but they all evoke a feeling, a memory, and, usually, a smile. I remember watching (fighting over) TV with my sisters and brother, and sometimes with my dad, but rarely with my mom… at least not when I was a kid. I am pretty sure she was busy. 😉
Also, there was that whole summer between 6th and 7th grade when we didn't even have a TV (and still)! Seems like it was the first day of summer vacation when smoke started coming out of the back and Mom & Dad didn't replace it. It was probably one of the best summers of my childhood!

LOL! You weren’t kidding when you said 93! You’ve got a little bit of everything on that list, and yes, so many of them bring happy memories.
Great list. I remember the 6 Million Dollar Man. Loved that show too! And how could I forget One Day At A Time?
This just made me laugh out loud…because this could be my list as well. I did limit mine to 10 but it was torture to do so. I loved TV in the 60’s and 70’s. Today – not so much.
Some of the shows on your list I’ve never heard of and some I’ve never seen, but I also have fond memories of many, as they were loved by my younger siblings. We still have and use TV trays (Smith’s mother’s), mostly as side tables. 🙂
Girl! We are of the same era! I feel fortunate to have grown up in the Golden Age of Television too. They sure don’t make shows like that anymore. Although I have my guilty pleasures, I am really tired of reality shows.
We are definitely of the same vintage. And we did have TV trays at my home. Sundays the kids ate dinner in the basement in front of the TV on our lovely trays, lost in the Wonderful World of Disney, while my parents had a quiet, adult, Sunday dinner upstairs. Everyone was happy!
You had some that could have been on my favorite list: Sonny & Cher, The Smothers Brothers (how could I have forgotten those two?), Dark Shadows (sophomore year in college I was in a room with 5 other girls; every day at 3:30 we would gather ’round the TV to watch Barnabas, et al), My Favorite Martian, and The Dick Cavett Show (best talk show EVAH!). I watched almost every other one on your list, some in syndication after than their original run, and loved them all. Great list!
What a great list!
ha! i love your unabashed love of teevee. and i love your list. we have several in common.
At least you alphabetized them. Heh. Excellent list and you’ve hit many of my favorites. I think the majority of fights I had with my brothers were over TV rights.
heart your list! and tv trays. and the rockford files. and welcome back kotter. and carol burnett (apparently I got sidetracked down chick flick alley and missed a few great ones!) tv was/is a great medium for entertainment!
But, but…no Dean Martin! No Rocky & Bullwinkle!
Great list!! But didn’t you watch The Partridge Family? Your era was mine too. Thanks for all the memories!
Oh, Vicki! I love you! And we are SO the same age!!!
I watched and loved all those shows too (well not the cartoons so much), love your list!
Sky King, Flicka, I loved The courtship of Eddie’s Father. We watched it in reruns too.
