Last night we drove Maddy's Jeep out to the farm for storage — 'til she returns!
Anticipating… Only three more weeks until Winter Solstice!
Celebrating… A Christmas party already on Friday!
Drinking… Hot tea — gigantic mugs of Tazo ZEN. And cold tea, G&Ts, IPAs, H2O.
Eating… Well. We've been doing so much cooking at home, and the fridge is usually bulging.
Enjoying… Junah's exploding language and imaginative play. Gin's bright eyes and ever-ready smile.
Hoping… to get Christmas going again. I was getting in the mood but lost it at the thought of hauling the tree up and the decorations down. I have started to do a little bit of shopping.
Knitting… I have two pairs of Squad Mitts going, two gift knits for the grandkids going (awaiting delivery of special-order safety eyes), and two more rows of ribbing before binding off my Rainbow Warrior Cowl!
Listening to… Simply Christmas by Leslie Odom, Jr., especially loving "My Favorite Things" and "Winter Song."
Looking forward to… Ann & family arriving the day after Christmas!
Needing… to make room for the tree.
Planning… well, not exactly planning yet… but beginning to think about Christmas dinner!
Reading… Winter Garden for book club, In The Company of Women for inspiration, Homeland and Other Stories just because.
Watching… Vikings (Season 1).
Remembering…
It was a beautiful evening for a drive into the country – this was the apropos scene on Golden Glow Road.
Wondering… What's up with you right now!?

And another NaBloPoMo is in the books. This one has been a bit of a struggle… since about November 9th. Thanks for reading along, sharing comments and suggestions — you've made all the difference.
Thank you for blogging every single day. I have enjoyed reading the many inspiring women in the blogworld. I am also in anticipation of Winter Solstice! Catching the sunrise this morning reminded me how short the days are and how soon that will change!
Junah and Gin sound like the absolute best things to enjoy! I’m struggling getting Christmas going; this just may be the year I finally use an artificial tree after proclaiming for years that I would never do that. I think things will be better if I keep them as simple as possible. I’m listening to the Anne of Green Gables series, and Golden Glow Road sounds like it comes directly from the books! What a perfectly lovely name and photo!
I’m headed back to Wisconsin for a whirlwind week of grandkid wrangling so mom and dad can get some work done. Not use how I’m going to get all the Christmas things done, but the knitting parts are mostly in order. My plan this year is to make small gifts (a tin of granola or butter toffee or spiced nuts or a loaf of bread) and give that with a card announcing a donation to one of the organizations I think are going to need extra help.
I think this has been a hard NaBloPoMo for so many reasons…but I’m glad we have the daily documentation of what life is really like…right now! I, too, am hoping to get Christmas …simply going. and looking forward to sharing the excitement with Charlie (and his mama, who has the Christmas thing times a million this year – something about babies I guess 😉 hugs and congratulations on another year!
Congrats on posting every day! I found it easier this year than usual. Good for you for sticking to it even when it got tough. And cheers to Christmas spirit and motivation!
It was the most difficult NaBloPoMo ever. Thanks for posting every day and hanging in there when the world around us made it more challenging. I’m beginning to think about getting Christmas “going” myself — how to make it festive and fun without overdoing or feeling Too Obligated. Life is full . . . of good stuff and sad stuff . . . but mostly full of love. XO
This NaBloPoMo was a challenge for me as well. But I did it – and congrats to you as well! Now, Vikings! YES – I loved it SO MUCH! There is a Vikings series on Netflix as well – also excellent!
Great job, V! Make me do this next year, OK? I’m also loving Leslie Odom’s holiday mix ~ XXO
Love these snippets of life.
Thanks so much for sharing a part of yourself with us for 30 days straight. I can imagine that might feel a bit of a chore from time to time, but much appreciated here.
A quick note to say thank you for blogging daily in November. I know it is a lot to write daily. And I so enjoy your blog!😄 Thank you…
