Unraveled Wednesday / Knit & Read

Unraveled Wednesday: Framing

I’m joining Kat & the Unravelers today for Unraveled Wednesday!

KNITTING:

One of these things is not like the others… but it’s all looking a little better (to me, anyway).

A knitted blanket featuring a geometric pattern of squares in shades of blue and white, partially draped on a surface. A pair of sandals is visible in the foreground.

The wide border (wider than any other I’ve knit) has tamed the wonkiness of that last square a bit.

It’s still a little wonky & weird, far from perfect, but it’s everything… my ❤️ to Mack.

I still can’t believe he’s graduating high school in a couple of weeks.

READING:

I’ve begun Trespasses on audio. Not usually a fan of a narrator doing “voices,” I’m enjoying the Irish voices/accents quite a bit! I haven’t cracked any of the actual books on my nightstand (and elsewhere) since finishing WWWWT but I’m sure it won’t be long before I do.

  1. Gosh! I do love this blanket so much. And the wide border seems perfect! that last square is a maasterpiece Vicki!

  2. You’ve successfully reduced the wonkiness with that wide border and it looks great! Mack is going to love it and be thrilled to receive such a special blanket.

  3. The border is making this look so great and so close to done! I’d wondered if Trespasses would have a reader with an Irish accent. I’ve been hearing it in an Irish accent in my head as I read, though I’m sure the real thing is even better!

  4. Nothing like some “real estate” to soothe the wonky-bits! I think it looks great, Vicki! The border just makes the whole thing pop. 🙂
And I loved listening to the audio version of Trespasses. The accent was perfect!

  5. That blanket looks amazing, Vicki! Gosh I love it so much… and I think Mack will too!
    XO

  6. that corner block looks great! and I do love the chunky border (and whoa, that is a LOT of garter stitch)!

  7. This is fantastic, Vicki! What a great gift.
I’m listening to Trespasses, too, but I read it last year. I need to reacquaint myself to the story. I’m enjoying the voices and they’re not too weird.
