Unraveled Wednesday: April 1991

I’m joining Kat & the Unravelers for Unraveled Wednesday! Just a quick update today… hopefully I’ll have a bit more to share (with better photos) next week.

KNITTING

I have a not-so-great photo of the beginning of Maddy’s panel for the Family Temperature Blanket.

We’ve been watching Shōgun on Tuesday nights, and the captions require attention, so no new progress!

The girls’ panels lined up in order — Katherine, Alison, Madeleine — and aligned date-wise as best I could this morning. Maddy’s had a hot spell, but is cooling down… I’m so flippin’ excited to see how these three compare.

I’m hoping to get another “driveway” photo soon.

READING

I finished My Southern Journey: True Stories from the Heart of the South, and have picked up The Devil’s Cloth: A History of Stripes.

Seems appropriate reading — you know I love me some stripes!

  1. What an interesting book! (And a perfect knitting companion, no question.)
I’m smitten with the tones you chose for your temperature project — especially with a black finish at the bottom? Is that what I’m seeing? Pretty sure it’s not a shadow. I always like the bold pop of a little bit of black in a space or a project.

  2. That does look like an interesting book – and perfect to go with your temperature project. I can’t believe you are on the LAST panel!!!

  3. I’m anxiously awaiting your next driveway photo and the title of that book does make me chuckle!

  4. How fun to see those temperature stripes side by side by side! and that book looks fascinating (also, it’s part of a 102 book series … um wow??!!!!)

  5. That book looks fascinating, Vicki! As does your start to Maddy’s stripe start! 🙂

I saw ads for Shogun and thought, hmmm, that looks interesting! (and you just upped my interest level!)
