It was a busy weekend with everyone here — in & out — from Friday night until this morning! There was a lot of laughing, cooking, playing, and just general hanging out. So fun. Hardly any photos.
I had the little kids yesterday while Ali drove Junah & Ginny to summer camp!!

They’ll be there until Friday and I can’t wait for them to get back so we can hear all about it!!
I went to summer camp with my cousin Gail for two summers — when I was 11 & 12 — and I still remember how much fun it was. And even if it wasn’t fun — discovering a gigantic leech on my leg after drifting over into the weeds, scrubbing dried toothpaste off my legs, brushing out a massive tease of my hair (those last two having to do with a Miss Ugly Contest… which I won!!) — it makes a great story!

Maddy, Katy & Viv (l-to-r) took off early this morning for their 4-day hike in the Porkies. Any combination of them will head up north again on Friday to pick up the young campers! Maddy & Katy attended the same camp when they were kids and still know the camp director. They worked as camp counselors (Stitch & Lilo) for quite a few years, as well.
The weather was as gross over the weekend as it was during the week, but there’s finally a bit of very welcome relief today and, after some rain later today & early tomorrow, the rest of the week looks very promising for the campers & hikers!

Junah and Ginny look SO excited to be at camp, I hope they have a wonderful week! The first year I went I was sure I would hate it and I wound up loving it so much that I begged my parents to let me stay for a 2nd week. And they did.
I only went to summer camp once but it wasn’t my favorite (and it was just a day camp). Here’s hoping the campers and hikers have good weather and loads of fun!
The smiles on Junah’s and Ginny’s faces just glow! What fun they will have (and I can wait to hear about either!) I hope that Maddy, Viv, and Katy have an excellent time in the Porkies!
SO much fun! I loved my summer camp experiences! Such great memories and stories. I can’t believe Junah and Ginny are old enough for sleep-away camp. Gosh, time really does just fly . . . XO
