The date is stuck in my head. It was on this date that I graduated high school — 49 years ago! And if that isn’t the BIGGEST fool of all today, I don’t know what is. But let’s give ‘er a go.
Apparently, Junah had a rough day on Wednesday… I won’t get into details, but there were raised voices & the eventual ban of all electronics for the evening. He came downstairs, mad & grumpy, and sat down at the “K’nex table” in the front room. He was just noodling around, but eventually a “man” emerged… but he was missing an obscure ball joint piece (of which we have very few), so Kate helped him sort & hunt.

They found one! The figure had long legs, a short neck, little head, big shoulders, and was very flexible — turns out, he was really good at twerking! We joked around & had a good laugh about that.
Later, after the kids went to bed, Ali sent us this message:

I came home to see this the other day:

Those things are providing protection for emerging hostas! They were relocated here during the big street/sidewalk redo a couple of years ago… and they need to be moved again (maybe this weekend).

We had some crazy weather late yesterday — a tornado watch was in effect for us from around 3-10 pm. There was at least one that touched down south of us, causing significant damage.
Finally…

…crazy after-bath hair!
Have a great weekend!!

I’m glad K’Nex and the found ball joint provided a way back from grumpiness. I hope the hostas survive their next move and that is some crazy Davy hair!
I am chuckling at those texts… thank goodness for distractions! Parenting is not a job for the faint of heart! (The punishment my kids feared was me telling them they had to write a letter to share with the person they had the issue with.) I am ever so glad you had no issues from that line of storms!
I can remember those moments being so big and important as a kid but then having such a hard time not laughing when it was my own kid having them. It’s good to know that play can still work as a good distraction — and that he can do it with other family members. Love the pic at the end!
You know, I really appreciate hearing about Junah having a not so great day, it’s a great reminder that smiling photos on the internet don’t tell the whole story. I hope you know what I mean because I’m finding it hard to put it in words. I’m glad you and Kate were able to turn it around for him and the twerking bit cracks me up.
Ah . . . LIFE. Thanks for sharing that slice of it with us. XO (And how can it be 49 years??? Tom graduated the same year that you did — his grad-anniversary is later this week.) I love seeing your storm-sky photo. By the time that storm reached us, it was dark and we couldn’t see it coming. (I love the drama-skies. The scary storms . . . not so much.) XO
Beautiful sky, and such fun Davy hair!! Glad you all could help Junah get through a rough day…a little twerking never hurts. LOL
