You may recall this photo that I posted a little while ago, in the midst of working on the girls’ bed pockets. I also shared it on FB/IG.

Speaking of the bed pockets, I have one of them all put together except for placement of the Velcro. I meant to take a photo to share today but, y’know, it’s been busy around here! I was also letting it sit because I wasn’t sure the cardboard (inserted to give it some structure) was sturdy enough… I did a little dumpster-diving at work & that all seemed a bit TOO sturdy. As I was showing Ali, I realized that the cardboard is easily replaced if it ever got bent out of shape!
I’m going to try to finish them both tonight… the kids will be over, anyway, and it’ll be great to get that off my table! Next up in the Little Working Museum is my Alabama Chanin car jacket project… only 21 days late to the 100 Days of Sewing (79 left). (I don’t really care about the number, just happy that the whole idea gave me a kick in the butt.)

I love your museum of creativity! Very inspiring. Just a thought about the cardboard inserts. I was making purses and bags several years ago and tried plastic needlepoint sheets (the kind in lots of kits for kids) for the bottom instead of cardboard. I found them cheap at my local craft store and they can be cut to size. The worked well.
I love the new name for your space and hope you enjoy your time in the LWM! I’m looking forward to seeing photos of the bed pockets in action.

That is a fantastic name for that room! I also wonder about the plastic canvas idea as well! (too bad there is not a Joanns anymore to go pick up a sheet or two!) I am eager to see the bed pockets installed on the girls beds! (I will be stitching along with you… I bought a scarf kit from AC and I am excited to get started!!)

Little Working Museum — that’s brilliant! I’m sure the cardboard will be fine and easily replaced if need be, but the idea of plastic canvas is a good one.
There’s nothing like a good, old kick-in-the-butt to get an old project re-started! Can’t wait to see the jacket come to life again in the Little Working Museum . . . which is the BEST name for a work room I’ve ever heard!!!! XO
