Something good

It was Australia Day yesterday…

A smiling woman with short, wavy hair stands in front of a banner featuring a coat of arms. She is wearing a light-colored outfit and a crossbody bag, with a tattoo visible on her left arm. In the background, there are trees and vehicles.

…and Maddy officially became a citizen!! She is now a dual citizen. I’m so happy for her!

Mayor of Orange, NSW, Tony Miletto; unknown woman; Citizen Madeleine; Viv; local Member of Parliament, Phil Donato

I have inquired but haven’t had a reply yet about what Viv is holding — I think it’s eucalyptus. A little googling reveals that new Australian citizens often receive a native sapling at their citizenship ceremony. Love that.
