We took a drive out to Calumet County Park at the end of the day on Wednesday. It wasn't the most spectacular sunset in the history of the world, but it was pretty… it's a pretty park.

Sometimes muted, calming, and pretty is perfect, and these lovely photos certainly are.
The trees silhouetted against the soft watercolor sky and mirrored movement of clouds and water look like poetry.
I know this park…I love the way the water and sky meet in this picture. The light on the water almost makes the horizon look like it’s in a different place.
Beautiful photos.
From here, it looks kind of like Paradise.
what a lovely view! those colors are so calming…makes me want to use them for a shawl!
You could frame that photo it is so gorgeous! 🙂
That’s a pretty spectacular sunset! (Especially with those leafing trees. . .) XO
Thanks Bonny! A huge hatch of "lake flies" occurred right after we were there — a big/thick enough cloud of them that they showed up on local radar. So happy we missed them!!  😉
It wasn't spectacular, but it sure was pretty! Glad we missed the lake fly hatch — it was big/thick enough to show up on local radar!!
Did you see the weather photo I shared on FB? The lake fly hatch must have happened right after our visit — big & thick enough to show up on local radar!!
