My favorites were Fox 8, The Summer Walkers, Blood, Uncommon Type, and Daisy Jones & The Six.
My least favorite (to put it nicely) were The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake and Daughters of the Lake.
In truth, I didn't actually finish "lemon cake" until last night… it was a struggle.
I am currently 3 hours from finishing the 14-hour listen that is The Unwomanly Face of War: An Oral History of Women in World War II… and that'll be a big one under my belt to begin 2020!

Ha! My tree isn’t down yet (and won’t be) either. Fletch likes it to stay up longer and I’ve gotten to like NOT un-decorating on the 1st, but rather saving that day for relaxing, knitting, napping, cooking, whatever appeals…but NO chores! Apparently that feeling will continue for a bit more (which is ok with me). I loved Fox 8, but couldn’t get into My Brilliant Friend. I read less this year than I have in a long, long time. I’ve been in a reading slump. I also think my taste in books is changing. We’ll see what 2020 brings – I am hoping to read books on my shelves that have been ignored for too long!
Loved your recent posts with all the pictures of the girls and the kiddos (who are ALL growing so fast!). For some reason, I haven’t been able to comment until today…not sure what’s been up (could be user error for sure – lol).

I also loved Fox 8, Daisy, and felt the same way about Lemon Cake. Tom Hanks’ narration of The Dutch House really made it a 5-star book for me, so I think it’s time to put Uncommon Type on my list and see what he’s like as an author. Have a good weekend catching up and not taking down the tree. (You’re ahead of me; I never put one up!)
I don’t know how many I read, but I re-read a lot of books I’d read before. I’m going to look into some of the ones you read. Always looking for new things to read.

I took down my tree and I still feel behind about stuff…. I did re-commit to Goodreads for tracking my reading and I’m really looking forward to my 2020 shelf. I’m still figuring out what I like to read with my eyes and my ears and I’ve decided 2020 will be a year to embrace all of it.
That Summer Walkers books would do so interesting. Wish is was a bit more accessible. I will have to keep my eyes open for a reasonably priced copy.
Fox 8 was a fun little read. I’d say the reading you did do was pretty heavy, so you had a lot to think about — and you’re taking that trend into 2020.
I read Lemon Cake and liked it, as I recall, but I don’t remember more than that. I think sometimes because I read SO much I just don’t have a good memory of what I’ve read. I’m starting Fever this morning.
Well. You do so many other things, Vicki, that I don’t think you should feel the least bit “oy” about your reading! (Too bad there’s not a website that tracks hugs and fun with grandchildren, huh?!!! I’m sure you’d have exceeded any goals there!) I read Fox 8 and Daisy Jones in 2019, too — and really liked both of them! Here’s to a good year of reading (no matter the number of books!) in 2020.

Your life is such a whirlwind I’m amazed you get any reading done at all. Numbers don’t matter, but enjoying what you read does! Fox 8 was a great book. Thanks for reminding me how much I liked it.
I’ve reserved Fox 8 from my library. I read a lot this year about 60 books. I had pneumonia for 2 months so I got a lot of reading done. I love your book suggestions.
