I'm joining Kat & the Unravelers today for Unraveled Wednesday!
KNITTING:
After I kitchener the toe, I'll be weaving in a bajillion ends…
I'll sew it up, give it a soak and block it, and then arrange to meet with Sonia's grandma for the hand off. I might "decorate" those trees a little, though. And still might add some eyes, at least, to the people. We'll see. I'm happy to have it almost finished!
Oh, and I think it was Vera who asked about Sonia… she is little sister to Sebas(tian) for whom I was commissioned to knit a stocking a couple of years ago. All the other grandchildren had stockings in this design knit for them by their great grandmother. Sebas & Sonia were born after she passed.

Eyes will be good, especially on Santa. He needs some bright blue bead eyes. Or floss, if that is what you have.
I’m glad Sonia will soon have a very generously sized stocking to hang at Christmas. Very nice!
How kind of you to knit stockings for these two little ones. I knit intarsia stockings for my children and grands as well as a niece. I used the same pattern my aunt used in the 1950’s to knit stockings for her children, grands, and my sibs. I love the connections that knitting traditions bring and you have contributed to this family’s traditions.
I think eyes would be a good idea, but maybe the recipient can take care of decorating the trees? You’ve spent so much time on this already!
I know you are so happy to have this (just about) finished. Bravo to you for making it (and thanks for answering my question about who is Sonia? – I just nosy, that’s all). I’ve given up on Maali Almeida – way too graphic for me.
Playing catch up and wow, you’ve been out and about … I’m amazed you found time to knit! It’s so fun to see Kate and I know you’re enjoying having her close. (and p.s. the Scorpio dating looks like me, too!)
Well done, Vicki! That is a gorgeous stocking! (may the weaving in be quick and easy!)
It is such a special thing for you to knit those stockings for Sebas and Sonia, Vicki! (I think it’s really hard to knit projects for other people that wouldn’t have chosen to knit on your own. You are a saint.) Enjoy the holiday weekend, Vicki! XO
