It’s not so much that this knit has resurfaced — there are two knit polar bear rugs that have been hanging around under the living room stairs (designated but not regulated kid area) for about six years, mostly in one doll bed or another — but that it has not been overlooked for the umpteenth time.

Malina… my knitting champion! She somehow wriggles into handknit sweaters & dresses she should have long outgrown (and is always stylin’), wears one of them to school for Show & Tell, and just had to take one of the polar bears home with her last night. Should she need one of her own, I just ran across that bag o’ yarn and have plenty.
I had a wonderful and much-needed 3-day weekend. Saturday was spent running errands of all sorts, so Sunday I was a happy slug — puttering at home, watching football (yay Packers!!). Rusty & Kate brought the tree up on Saturday and we got that put together. Kate, of all people, was trying to arrange the tree just-so to hide the section that had non-working lights, but no matter which was it was spun… UGH! It was a big section!! So yesterday, before Ali & Rod arrived with the kiddos for some tree-trimming, I bit the bullet, removing three strings of lights and replacing them with two… which worked out great because 1/3 of those lights were dead already last year, balled up & stuffed into the tree. I also spent some time yesterday figuring out where I’m at Christmas gift-wise… and took care of a few things. Closing in on it all… I’ll be hosting dinner on Christmas Eve, so need to clear the deck, so to speak.

So fun to see Malina championing another handknit … and her smile is just The Best! The leading-up-to-Christmas time feels super short this year. Glad you have lots of helpers to get ready for it all.
I love when we get a look back at items you’ve knit for other kids, especially when they’re so well-loved once again!
Malina is just adorable, Vicki! And YAY for the tree being up… I got mine done yesterday. Whew. I am closing in the the Gift Shop Finish as well! XO
