2024-Amsterdam (& Taylor Swift) · Unraveled Wednesday / Knit & Read

Don’t Blame Me

The concert is a month from today…

…so this surprising sideways Swiftie obsession need be endured only a little while longer!

I’m joining Kat & the Unravelers for Unraveled Wednesday!

MAKING

My press & ink* have been pushed aside for the moment so I have room to make beaded bracelets!

I noticed that the “K” in Fuck The Patriarchy is backwards! Part of me wants to fix it, but another part says, “Fuck it!” haha. The pile on the left is for Ann, the one on the right is mine.

More/different beads are arriving today.

READING

Same as last time.

EATING

For lunch today, I’m having leftovers from a shrimp & zucchini dish…

…and remembered to snip a little fresh basil on the way to the car!

_ _ _ _ _

*I love the track I’m on with the Life Is Short prints, but I’m extremely limited by the type in my meager collection, so I’ve signed up for an upcoming evening workshop at Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. It’s hitting a couple of chords, one being that it’s actually called Words In Wood, specifically about printing a quote or mantra that is resonating at the moment. I will have SO much more type to choose from, along with other design elements. Another chord is that the workshop will be taught by the 2024 BIWOC Artists-in-Residence and that can only be good & inspiring. I’m excited to play!

  1. I think the backwards K is perfect for the sentiment! and your piles of bracelets are full of so much delight – thank you for (continuing to) sharing!

  2. First— that sounds like a fantastic workshop, could that museum and location be any more perfect?! Joining you in spirit!
Second—I’ve been sharing your Swiftie journey with my daughter, also a bracelet-making Eras devotee. She’s “so proud of you.” Verbatim.
Third—that backward K! Love it! Please keep it! It adds whimsy. It waxes poetic. I think it’s just perfect.

  3. Yup, backwards K all the way! I’m kind of neutral on Taylor Swift but I am learning some song titles and looking forward to all the excitement between now and the concert.

  4. That K is perfection! Because.. yeah, Fuck IT! LOL

I love all of this, Vicki. I think you and Ann are going to have so much fun!

  5. Fun bracelets, Vicki. And the backwards K is the best part, actually. Looks badass-on-purpose to me. But I gotta say . . . your type project has got my attention, for sure!
