Unraveled Wednesday / Knit & Read

12.3: Unraveled Wednesday

I’m joining Kat & the Unravelers for Unraveled Wednesday!

Short & sweet today!

KNITTING:

I’m closing in on Ginny’s Musselburgh Beret . It’s knit top-down & I’m just about to begin the bottom band. I haven’t made much more progress on the other project, but its time is coming.

QUILTING:

I picked up my quilted quilt yesterday!! It looks amazing & I’m so excited to work on the binding/finish. I feel like there are other things I should do first, but it would be nice to get that project wrapped up. Hm. Maybe I could literally wrap that up & call it a present for us! Anyway, I love that shop. I think I’m going to take a beginner quilting class there beginning in January. I’ve done a little bit of quilting, but there are huge holes in my general knowledge (aka, basics).

No photos of any of those projects because it’s dark all the time now. heh. Less than three weeks until we start (very slowly) trending the other way again!

READING:

I finished World Travel: An Irreverent Guide (Anthony Bourdain) a few days ago.

Close-up of the book cover of 'The Comfort of Crows: A Backyard Year' by Margaret Renkl, featuring vibrant illustrations of birds and flowers.

The newest tome plucked from the pile is The Comfort of Crows: A Backyard Year by Margaret Renkl. I know that it’s a (sometimes perennial) favorite of many, and it’s been in the pile for a while. I think it suits my reading style perfectly right now.

  1. Comfort of Crows is one of my favorite books and I think you will enjoy it! I am eager to see you quilt all finished! (and I really like your idea of taking a quilting class in the new year!)

  2. Exciting projects — and an exciting book selection, too. (I love Comfort of Crows – have read it 3 times now – but I love her Late Migrations even more. Maybe for your book pile . . . ) And I’m so tired of the dark ALL the time right now . . .

  3. Some great projects – and thanks for the reminder that the light is going to start returning (slowly!) soon!!
